Category: flexibility

For a joint to function properly, it needs plenty of movement! Joint mobility refers to the ability to perform movements with the greatest possible range of motion, and it plays an important role in various physical abilities. In this mobility workout, we’ll focus on the mobility of the thoracic spine. Greater mobility in the thoracic spine offers several advantages in the context of strength and endurance training. Good posture is essential for maintaining proper form during various exercises and training movements. Increased mobility in the thoracic spine and rib cage also improves respiratory mechanics, which is crucial for both endurance activities and weightlifting, allowing for better oxygen uptake and distribution throughout the body. Improved thoracic spine mobility facilitates many functional movements such as throws, arm swings, and trunk rotations. Be sure to include a warm-up to reduce the risk of injury!
