Weekly Challenge 4 — Fitness Week: 50,000 steps
Published 16 August 2026
Hi!
The third week of Weekly VäljaQtse—Fiber Week—comes to an end tonight. There’s still time to eat your fill. If you haven’t logged your meals in your diary yet, be sure to do so today to claim your raffle ticket.
Week IV of VäljaQtse: Exercise Week
This time, we’re not focusing on our plates—we’re putting our legs to work. Or rather, we’re staying active without too much pain. The challenge is actually manageable for everyone and can be done without putting on workout clothes: the goal is to accumulate 50,000 steps over the course of the week.
Why steps?
Daily movement usually counts for more than a single workout. Three workouts a week are great, but the remaining roughly 165 hours matter even more.
This is the only challenge you can do on your way to the store or work. No need to overdo it—it’s enough to replace just one car or bus ride with a walk, or to take a pleasant morning or evening stroll around your home.
Walking doesn’t require a long recovery period. Unlike a workout, it doesn’t require a rest day. During tough weeks, it’s movement that helps your body, not wears it down.
The effects are measurable. Your heart, blood sugar, mood, and sleep respond quickly to your daily activity level—often before the scale shows any change.
This Week’s Challenge
August 17–23. A total of 50,000 steps throughout the week. Only the weekly total counts—how you spread them out each day is up to you. 50,000 steps = one raffle ticket.
Why exactly 50,000 steps?
One bad day won’t “ruin” the whole week. This is the first challenge where missing a single day isn’t a loss—you can make up for it by walking more the next day. That’s why the campaign page never shows you before Sunday evening that the week is already over.
That works out to 7,143 steps per day—practically the same as FunTastyQ’s daily goal of 7,000. If you keep up your usual pace, you’ll reach your goal by the end of the week.
It’s challenging, but not too much: according to FunTastyQ data, the average user’s typical week is about 28,000 steps. So 50,000 isn’t too easy—it requires a conscious effort to move more. But it’s totally within reach: about 25 extra minutes of walking per day.
How Your Steps Are Tracked
Three options—choose the one that works for you:
iPhone: Connect the FunTastyQ Fit app to Apple Health. Your phone has already counted your steps anyway—you just need to give the app permission to access them.
Android: Connect the app to Google Health Connect. Same story—your watch or phone has already recorded your steps.
Manually: Open the steps chart in the daily view and enter the number yourself. If you have a Garmin, Polar, or other watch paired with the app, check the number there at the end of the day and enter it.
You can see your weekly progress—steps earned and steps remaining—on the campaign page under Week 4.
