Hello!

Week 4 of VäljaQtse—Exercise Week—is almost over. If you’ve taken 50,000 steps this week, you’ll get a raffle ticket. Now Week 5 is starting, and this time it doesn’t require any exercise or workout clothes.

Week V of VäljaQtse: Water Week

Since it rained heavily last week, we were inspired to declare this WATER WEEK.

Drinking water is something you definitely already do every day—you just probably don’t drink enough, and you almost certainly don’t keep track of it. This week, we’re changing both of those things.

Why Water

  • Fatigue and headaches are more often caused by dehydration than by lack of sleep. Even a 1–2% loss of body weight in fluids reduces your ability to concentrate and increases feelings of fatigue—before you even feel thirsty.

  • The body confuses thirst with hunger. Drinking a glass of water before a meal isn’t just an old wives’ tale: often, the “craving for something” disappears afterward.

  • This is the cheapest challenge of the campaign. Water costs nothing, requires no time or recovery, and can be done even during the busiest workweek.

  • Water is already included in your daily score. Each marked day also contributes points to your daily score.

This Week’s Challenge

August 24–30. Meet your personal water goal on at least five out of seven days and log your water intake in the diary. Five days = one raffle ticket.

Your target is unique to you

This time, there isn’t a single number for everyone. The target is 25 ml for every kilogram of your body weight, rounded to the nearest 100 ml:

  • 60 kg → 1,500 ml

  • 77 kg → 1,900 ml

  • 100 kg → 2,500 ml

A larger body needs more water—it wouldn’t be fair to hold a 55-kilogram person to the same standard as a 105-kilogram person. You’ll find your exact number on the campaign page for Week 5. If your weight isn’t listed in your profile, the default is 2,000 ml; add your weight, and the standard will be adjusted to your specific needs.

Why 25 ml/kg, not 30–35?

The common recommendation of 30–35 ml/kg applies to total daily fluid intake—which includes water from food as well. Here, we’re only counting the water you record in your diary, so the threshold is intentionally lower.

How to Track Your Water Intake

Water is the only metric that isn’t automatically tracked—your phone can’t see what you’re drinking. But logging it couldn’t be easier:

  • In the app: Open the water card in the daily view and tap 250, 500, or 1000 ml. One glass of water = one tap.

  • On the web: Go to the exact same spot in the daily view at funtastyq.com.

  • Tip: Log it right after you drink, not in the evening from memory. In the evening, you always remember drinking less than you actually did.

You can see your weekly progress—how many days you’ve met your goal and how many you still need—on the campaign page under Week 5.
