All FitQ users who actively work out on our platform have probably noticed the points adding up on their dashboard. As soon as you do even a little something on the platform, your activity points start ticking up. What are these points good for, and how are they calculated? Here is a quick overview. However, we should warn you that we will probably need to update this blog post from time to time, as our platform is constantly evolving.
Why Do We Need Points?
To stay motivated to move, you sometimes need a little external motivation in addition to your inner drive—something that does not come from within but still gets you moving. A points system allows us to create various challenges and games on the platform and offer bonuses.
End-of-season prize draw. For example, we currently have a monthly challenge for all users: collect a total of 5,000 points in one month to earn one entry into our end-of-season prize draw, which will take place in June. The grand prize is a €1,000 Estravel travel gift card.
Challenges. We are also planning various exciting team challenges in which the leaderboard will determine the final rankings—collect the most points on your own or with your team, and you will win the challenge. Our next challenge, the Best Shape of Your Life Training Challenge, starts on February 12 and is open to teams of up to seven members.
Activity leaderboard. Points allow us to create a live leaderboard of active users. You can view the leaderboard for the current month, week or day to see how your activity compares with that of other users.
Online store discounts. In the future, we will also be able to offer our most active participants points-based discounts in our online store, where you can buy various types of sports equipment and essential supplements.
How Are Points Calculated?
As mentioned above, the calculation may change as new features are added. The current points formula is as follows.
| Activity | Standard user | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Watching a workout video | 6 points/minute | 10 points/minute |
| Marking a challenge task as complete | 50 points | 100 points |
| Marking a day in a program as complete | 125 points | 250 points |
| Rep in an AI test—push-up, squat or ab exercise | 1 point/rep | 1 point/rep |
