Common questions include: How do you get started with home workouts? What is the best home workout plan for women or men? Should you follow a workout video or buy a personalized workout plan?
And the questions don’t stop there. Did you spot one—or perhaps even a couple—that you’ve been wondering about yourself?
Home workouts are a great way to take care of yourself!
Home workouts are a great way to look after your health and fitness. At the same time, we know it can sometimes be difficult to find—and maintain—the motivation within yourself.
A simple tip for staying motivated to work out: train with a friend!
There’s nothing better than a good friend to give you a nudge when you’re too tired to work out (ahem… let’s be honest, sometimes it’s simply laziness. It happens to us too… 😉). Get other people involved so you can motivate one another and keep yourself active at the same time.
When two or more people train together, they share responsibility and support one another. An added bonus is that it can create positive competition and increase workout intensity, which may help you achieve even better results. Research on home workouts also confirms positive associations between well-planned exercise and lower body weight, aerobic capacity, and more.
Training with a friend also provides ongoing motivation through challenges you come up with together and goals you set as a team.
A workout journal can also help you stay on track, making it easier to plan your workouts and achieve results. What’s more, until the end of February, the code "Fitq20" gives you a 20% discount on Seik workout journals!

How can you build better friendships? It’s simple: find a workout buddy!
As Valentine’s Day approaches, you may feel a little sad if you don’t have as many friends as you would like. But remember: quality matters more than quantity! Right?!
That said, we completely agree that friends are important. That’s why we’re currently encouraging all FitQ members to invite their friends to join the challenge. It’s more fun together. Here’s an interesting fact: one school in Tartu has already put together a team of 47 members! Isn’t that wonderful? Some of them are surely people who didn’t know one another before but are now building great relationships as they work toward a shared goal!
Some studies have even found that exercising in a group offers greater mental, physical, and emotional benefits than working out alone, including reducing overall stress.
Exercise is fun and social…
…when you can treat it as part of your lifestyle rather than an incredibly demanding obligation. And once again, a workout buddy is definitely a great way to make even unpleasant workouts at home more enjoyable. Work out together at one person’s home one time and the other person’s home the next. On both occasions, the host gets to choose what’s on the “workout menu” that day. This also adds an element of excitement, instead of spending the day thinking: oh no, I have to do that… workout today.
So, what’s the takeaway? Should you work out at home or at the gym? Exercise alone or with a friend? There is no single right answer, but in general, training with one or more other people can be a great source of motivation, helping you stick with your workouts and achieve better results. That’s why you should definitely consider finding a workout partner !
