New in the app: extra steps earn you an extra bite
Published 10 August 2026
Hi, friends!
FuntastyQ got a small update today that will hopefully make exercise an even more natural part of your day: on days when you don’t work out, the steps you take beyond your daily goal will earn you a small bonus for your food budget.
How does it work?
The bonus starts at 7,000 steps—the same goal you see on your step ring.
Every 1,000 extra steps adds about 35 kcal—the exact number depends on your weight, and the app will show you your personal formula.
The daily cap on your “budget” is +300 kcal—this is a small buffer, but not an excuse to overeat or a reason to walk marathon distances every day.
The bonus isn’t counted on days you work out—your workout calories are already factored in. If your step counter was on during your workout, there’s no risk of us double-counting the same activity in your daily total.

How do you turn it on? The bonus is off by default—your calorie budget won’t change until you decide to change it. In the app, you’ll find the toggle under Account → Step Bonus Calories. On the web, the same toggle is in your profile settings.
Everything is already up and running on the web today—you can turn it on via the settings page; the iOS and Android update 1.61 will be available in the app stores in the coming days (or hours).
Enjoy your workout!
